An interesting thing happens…
…when a group of tiles are created and then combined into one presentation as a mosaic.
our 1st Mosaic:
In our first meeting, 12 people each created a tile. At the end of the meeting, the 12 tiles were displayed together into a “Mosaic”.
… the Same:
- Paper – 3.5″ square white “tile” from Zentangle.com
- Spaces on paper — defined by the same pencil-drawn “string”
- Pen — black Micron 01
- Space fillers — crescent moon, hollibaugh, printemps, cubine
- Shading plan – using graphite 2B pencil
… the Different:
- Size of marks that combined into a pattern
- Line weight
- How densely each space was filled
- Shading application
… the Celebration:
- A new perspective — observing one’s art from a distance
- Unity — achieved through elements repeated in the tiles
- A new work of art — created by the displayed “tiles”
- An example of the power of a community that finds harmony in respecting individuality
