Zenbossing?
Zen Linea calls this drawing technique Zenbossing and demo’s it here on YouTube. Zenbossing seems to be most effective when shapes:
- are simplified and minimized
- are a combination of curves and corners
As in the Calla Lily
shapes to Explore:
- Basic shape: horizontal oval atop a vertical oval
- S-curves
things to Notice:
- Aura line (or use white pen on light-colored paper)
- Shade: on right and bottom of every line
- first a little graphite, smudged
- then pen
- then optional grey brush pen
- Highlight: in left and top of each shape
- white pen
- then white charcoal, smudged
for a Gallery:
- black ink on white Zentangle® tile (3½”x3½”)
- shaded with graphite, then colored pencil/pens
